My Book is Now Available!

June 20, 2013 by epicureanvegan

On a non-vegan note . . . my historical nonfiction, Folsom’s 93 is now available! Sorry for the blatant, self promotion, but I thought, if any of you (or others you know) are history buffs, you might be interested. You can order a copy at Amazon or Barnes & Noble. The e-version will be available July 1st. Some of the stories of these men are so bizarre; stranger than fiction. For example, one woman’s husband was Folsom’s 52nd execution and happened to be her fourth murdering husband! How does that happen?! Well . . . you’ll have to buy the book to find out! 😉

Congratulations! I’m so behind in my blog reading but this was at the top of my Feedly and I just couldn’t bring myself to wait and read them in order 😉 I’m totally ordering this book!

Aw! Thanks, Barb! If it makes you feel any better, I’m WAY behind on my blog reading, too!

Interesting. What made you decide to write a book on that topic? I added it to my Amazon Wishlist. I have about a 30 book backlog I’m forcing myself through before any new purchases, but I’ll get to it. 🙂

Hey, I appreciate that—thanks. So I had a great-great uncle in L.A. who was a bookie and apparently sometime in the ’40s, he went to Folsom to collect from an inmate. He left with a box of mug shots and a 40-page typed text chronicling the history of Folsom since the beginning planning stages in the 1850s. Folsom executed just 93 men which was from 1895-1937 and the mug shots were of all 93 men. He tucked them away and my aunt found them in ’79 when he died. I wrote a blog post about if you want to read a little more about it: http://folsoms93.com/2012/09/20/how-the-book-began/
      Thanks again!

I’m so happy for you! I know you’ve been working on this for a long time! Did you self-publish?

Thanks, Angela! Yes, it’s been a long time coming! No, I went with a publisher–Linden Publishing out of CA.

The Epicurean Vegan is devoted to those wanting to eat healthy, save animals, and reduce their carbon footprint. My decision to go vegan started out as a quest to get healthier, but the more I learned about veganism, the more I realized how damaging the meat and dairy industries are to the environment and, of course, the animals. And it is for these reasons, that I would never go back to eating or wearing animal products. Ever.
